I'm kind of torn, but there are dozens of pieces of artwork around here that I made for her and actually look like their subject. Hard decision.

I'd leave it as is but then I only have one crude carving to show for my childhood endeavors. I made it for my Mother as an Xmas give 1958. I do still have the set of Boy Scout exacto knife I used back then.

Leave it as is as a reminder that it sat in her home and she looked at it daily. That said, I took a greenwing drake I made my mother and repainted it when I got it back. It was so dark I couldn't stand it.

It's part of your carving history, you can always improve but you can't go back.

Meant to take a picture after I wired them and ran the stringers but I forgot. Plan to seal tomorrow.
