I have 20 dekes that were given to me, they all need a paint job real bad. Can anyone recommend the best paint and the colors I should get? (manly wedgeon and mallards) Thank you very much for any advice.

Herter's has kits but you can go to any paint/hardware store with a clean decoy and the can help you match up the colors.

I went to a crafts store (also saw them at wally world) and got some paints called apple barrel colors. Just take a deke and match the colors. Cost me about 7 bucks including brushes to do 3 doz. over last summer.

For the base I use Killz gold label (outdoor) for the paints I use Rustolum? This stuff is tuff as nails. I learned this when painting E. Allen decoys from the guys at Blackduck Outfitters.

    PUNCH THIS ADDRESS UP. http://www.parkercoatings.com/decoy.htm

I ORDERED THE MALLARD KIT FROM THEM AND IT WAS A GOOD DEAL AND THE PAINT WORKS ON RUBBER, WOOD OR WHAT EVER DECOY. ONE KIT GOES A LONG WAY. YOU NEED TO HAVE 10 CHEAP BRUSHES AT ONE TIME. THAT WAY YOU CAN PAINT EACH DECOY AND BE DONE WITH IT.

THIS IS THE SAME KIT OFFERED IN CABELA'S CATALOG. THE KIT COMES WITH INSTRUCTIONS AND A MAP FOR EACH COLOR.

CHECK IT OUT AND LET ME KNOW OF YOUR SUCCESS.
