    That was a big bird.
The flush was classic, noisey and BODACIOUS!

    Is there anything better?

That's awesome that stuff like that still gets your heart pumping like that. My dad is 70 and he lost that over a decade ago and I've seen the same phenomenon in a lot of men in my lifetime.

My normal Thanksgiving morning. Solid hunt with the dogs. Leo had 5 hard points today. 4 hens and this guy. He’s really starting to click now.

We went for a walk today.

Mind you, this dog is 12 and this wasn't our first hunt.

He got on a rooster (zig-zag trail) and worked it hard.
He was right on top of it 3 times at least.
By on top of it, I mean within a 3 foot radius, maybe closer.

Once he left the trail, circled down wind and started winding (nose in the air) until he got back on the track (nose on the ground), it was beautiful.

But it gave him the slip.

If I had to wager, I'd say a cripple, cause that S.O.B. was NOT flying.

Still a nice walk in the park.......

It happens Stan. I’d consider my dogs pretty tight on birds that are close, and they still lose the trail on occasion. Happened today, twice.

Spent the morning trying to find birds. Had a couple times he would get birds but no luck. Was really surprised at the amount of people out. As others have mentioned, there is a lot more pressure than I’ve noticed in years past!

Been wasting too much time on geese to get after the pheasants too much but we got a few today. Plentiful amounts compared to year's past.
