Pickle Heads

Saw a guy on FB making these and thought they were kind of cool. Guy by the name of Chandler Stokes made these, cork body with basswood/cedar heads:

I've heard them called pickleweed decoys. I thought there was someone on here that use to post pictures of them but maybe that was a different forum.

Guys used to use those along the banks of the sloughs in SF Bay and the Suisun Marsh. Look like birds crawled up on the bank hauling out and resting. Every once in awhile you can run into an old original in California, especially the Bay Area.

I believe MLBob is the carver that has posted numerous pickle weed decoys here and other sites over the years.
