I’ve seen probably 6 banded bulls die, none due to me pulling the trigger. Killed a banded hen about 7 years ago banded at Tulelake

23 waterfowl bands, but only one sprig. A bull back in 1999.

Killed a banded hen pintail in Idaho some years back. All of the rest of my bands are mallards except one gadwall.

In the mid 80's I shot a bull on Tulelake that had been banded 2 years earlier in Port Aransas Texas as an adult.

As far as sprig, both of my black labs have their names on certificates of birds they found on the edge of levees on the walk out. Figure they each deserved the recognition since they were the ones that harvested the birds. On a freelance trip to Canada, we drove through the township where my first banded sprig was banded. Still remember the sneak and the jump back in 1991.

No SPRIG seen yet, but the cemetery honkers have started their late summer/fall flight patterns from the bay. Guess the fledglings are full grown now

My nephew has hunted ducks and geese over 40 years and lives in the rice belt! He has never killed a banded bird!

Interesting 22 of my 23 bands have come in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys. The biggest number were taken at Gray Lodge.

You seems to miss out on a lot of action while leaking and pooping... you need to stop that !
