My father and I have had a long-running tradition of hunting on Christmas... The past few years (with me having young children), we have managed to make it either the day before or after Christmas.

This year was the day after. Christmas was hectic (and fun), first going to my wife's family, then mine. Christmas dinner was at my parents house, and he was loading his gear as I was leaving...

Plenty of birds seen, and while he was not shooting great, I was shooting outright poorly. Even the dog was not at her best. It was like the Three Stooges hunting, and I was the head stooge. We had a great time as always, and laughed as we gave each other a bad time.

We were sharing a pond with other members, and we were in the center (better) blind... When we finished, we called them to let them to come over, and they only had one bird to go... So we sat in the blind until they finished (as it is a long walk off the pond) and did not want to ruin their shooting... As we all got back to the parking lot at the same time, even they noted that we were "not shooting to our normal standards."

Our Christmas shoots are always fun... And always memorable:

At Least you managed a Great Tailgate Picture ? Like each shell shot , it was a memory to be cherished , the warmth of a Loved One close-by is
victory in itself ! 2021 is just about over , I have no idea where it all went but , those smiles will never be forgotten !

The company in the blind far outweighs any negatives like a bad day of shooting. Cherish the days hunting with dad in the blind, they don't last forever.

Haven't shot a, or even at, teal all season, and to say I'm jealous is an understatement.
Good work Mike and Mark, always enjoy your posts. Keep the fire burnin.

I would love to shoot a duck again with my dad again. Supposed to of been in California this week but the weather is not worth risking the travel. Daughter can’t miss any school next month.

My dad would shoot teal every day for the rest of his hunting time left on earth. He will pass on every duck to shoot a teal.

Marc you and those that can hunt with their dad or ANY family are lucky these days.

    Great adventure and picture. :tu:tu

Glad to see you out there with your dad Marc. My hunting days would be long gone without my son. Just being out there is special. Your dad and I are very lucky indeed
