South Mississippi HRC will have a training day for all retrievers on June 18, 2022. Anyone interested is welcome to attend, even if you have no dog and just want to watch. The training day will begin at 6:30 a.m. to beat the heat. Come when you can! We should be done by noon. The training day will be held at 44 Whatley Road, Perkinston, MS 39573. This is a really nice property being slowly developed by Mr. and Mrs. Hickman specifically for hunt tests. Bring your own shade (few trees), and PLENTY of water for your pups. I do not think we will have any shot flyers due to the price/difficulty of getting live birds right now.
This will be a great opportunity to begin to condition young dogs to decoys, gunshots, and the excitement of hunting. And, it will provide a good tune-up for those Finished/Master dogs, or cagey old hunting dogs who have been on "vacation" since duck season. After we are done, we will have a quick club meeting on upcoming hunt test issues, welcoming the new officers, and related matters.
