Some of the smaller public hunting lakes could be ok for a kayak and public marshes/basins during very wet years. Unfortunately It’s been a dry year so some marshes are very low or dry right now and frozen! Just be mindful on windy days with non motorized water craft on bigger water… at times we have serious wind. I would avoid big water and definitely the Missouri River with non motorized boats in the winter.

I mostly hunt the Arkansas river in eastern OK, so most hunts involve getting on bigger water, definitely not kayak worthy, i wouldn’t dare it on a major river like the Missouri! Just wondering more if i should sell it before the move or if it would have use there.

Do the rest require boats or?
I think you can walk in hunt just about all of em. Only ones I could think about that you really need a boat to hunt is Ballards Marsh, Rat and Beaver, Big Alkaline and maybe an refuge lake or two up in the Sandhills but even some of them I think you could walk in hunt

Most of the basins do not require a boat of any sort. In fact, I don’t think you can run outboards in them. A Kayak would be ideal on the bigger ones so you can get away from every guy along the shoreline. And if you can hunt during the week, you’ll sometimes have the whole marsh to yourself. Definitely worth holding onto.
