There are a couple of recipes I could put together right now, but they have fiocchi hulls/primers with tapered wads...

Doing some research it seams that powder migration and therefore inconsistent loads would be a real concern.

But I don't have bismuth fiocchi recipes using anything but RP12 or WAA12R.

Im just curious if anyone has ever done these loads and if powder migration is something to actually be concerned about or not.

I’d just use the s3 wad, or straight wall figure 8

The MG42 wad works also for 1.25-1.375 oz of bismuth shot in certain payloads 2.75” hulls and larger.

Gotcha. Just can't find a recipe using those wads and I have no experience to be messing around.

In a straight-walled hull loading 1 1/8 oz of Bismuth a 12S3 wad works well but if 1 1/4 oz is used a 12S4 or CB1114 is good too !
You might want to avoid any straight-wall hull recipe calling for a tapered wad , as there can't be any consistency with a load like that !

Thanks. I just don't understand why the Lyman's or hogdon doesn't have other wads that are more appropriate.

Are there more resources out there for load data? I have BPIs small cheddite manual.

1 1/4 bismuth 4s

Honestly I'm just not sure if I'll ever find some 209 primers...and hazmat is a beast.

Wish I had a Scheels

Some of my ideal loads. I just don't know if I want to wait for a primer that will never come.

Although you say the ched 209 is interchangeable with the win?
