Thanks guys for all the prayers and well wishes. It helped to know that someone besides me and my family cared what would happen.
I go back to the radiation oncologist in a month to have my throat scoped to see if there is any cancer left there. The chemo oncologist has me scheduled for CT scans of my neck, chest and abdomen in early August to make sure nothing is hiding there.
Currently, I am going to a swallow therapist to get my mouth back in shape. On June 7, I have some kind of test to measure my ability to swallow where they give me small bits of food and I have to wash it down with barium as they watch on a fluoroscope. Not looking forward to that...barium is nasty stuff.
I don't know if the chemo oncologist was just blowin' smoke or not but he said that the treatment of my type of cancer is about the roughest ordeal someone can go through for a cancer that is highly curable. I know that right now, I am as miserable as anyone can be but knowing that from this point forward my condition will improve greatly.
Thanks again guys, ya'll are awesome.
