Walking down a narrow path today thru some thicker grass and brush, maybe knee or waist high. Dog locks up on something just off the trail. I tell her to stay and catch up to her. A couple inches off the end of her nose is a poult. As I get the thought across my mind why there would be a pheasant poult back here momma turkey erupts out of the grass 6” to my left. Gave the dog a stern no and a leave it and she chased neither the momma or the poult. Had to put my heart back in my chest after that one tho. Wild having a 10-15 lb bird burst from the grass right next to you.
Always fun walking with the dog. I’m pretty sure if I was just walking I would have blown right past them and been none the wiser

I'm building a cabin/deer blind on the back 40. Pictures when its done....
Limit and Goose are there with me all the time. I looked outside and saw they were both interested in something in the bushes. I figured they were just chasing mice as they've caught a few up there. A couple minutes later I heard a YIPE!
I could see Limit in the stalking mode. My first thought is please don't let it be a skunk.
About a foot in front of his nose in the picture there's a snapping turtle.
It's all good, no blood was shed by either side.

Wish I could easily post cell phone video. Roxie has really turned some corners lately and it’s fun to be a part of. Now if I can just get her to mind her manners in the house all will be good.

Just switched them over to Victor from Diamond due to availability and they are both special lately.

I ordered my last bag of Diamond online because no one locally carries the Diamond 30/20 stuff anymore.
Debating switching her but she’s done well on Diamond for 6.5 years. Is there a decent supply of Victor locally? I haven’t looked into it too much yet.
