The Giants are in a building process and there's room for improvement but there's no doubt the Dodgers are at the end of theirs's ?
There're good things coming for the Giants , can't say the same for other High Priced teams , especially on the west coast ! We'll have
to see after the play-offs , who's playing for who , under the cap ?

That's a fact , we should be aware that sports is dealing with a Big Problem in the near future !
Teams that have fallen into the trap of signing players to outlandish contracts without the fans in mind ? When the fans can't afford a family
outing , the sport will fade as , to date , with inflation of household overhead and credit card debt who can afford 14 dollar beers and 10 dollar
hotdogs ? Teams who contract $300 million players are not helping the sport as , maybe , only one out of 10 players will last that long . We see
this everyday when a young player reaches his prime but then , with all that money , goes off in the sunset ! I hear more and more talk about ,
sports fans saying , I'm done with pro sports , they're not even watching TV because the industry is leaving us out in the cold !

The Giants rebuilding process took a major hit this year as many of their top prospects did not have great years in the minors. There is also a gap there in the talent they have at A level ball vs. AAA ball so they are still a couple years away from seeing those picks potentially come to fruition.

The Dodgers just keep reloading. Not only do they have a solid farm system and international scouting, they aren't afraid to open up the checkbook and sign the top talent. They are ran better from the top, thus why they could swing lopsided deals to get players like Mookie Betts or the deal that got Turner and Scherzer. Of course Scherzer left but Turner is a terrific player. Then they sign Freddie Freeman this year. The top of their lineup is their catalyst and then they have a bunch of bangers in the bottom of the order.

Farhan has not been successful at signing marquis free agents. He has had some nice pickups but he also has been enamored with getting players off the scrap pile that isn't necessarily working as well this season as last. The next man up mantra kind of faded as the team just isn't competitive with the stacked Dodgers team. Take out the games against the Dodgers and they are well above .500. So it is pretty obvious their is a huge talent disparity.

To me Farhan is over rated. 3 of his 4 years they are under .500 or hovering right around it. Sure it's better than 90 to 100 losses, but the 107 was an anomaly. They caught fire and had career years from several players. It could not be replicated. Yet the Dodgers just keep winning divisions and while one could argue they have one questionable title for all those years they have won, it is hard to make an argument against them running their organization top notch.

I hate them SOB's but it is the plain truth. They are the best team in baseball by a long shot. Problem is the post season is a new season and we know how that story usually goes for them.

To be fair to Farhan, signing free agents using Bryce Harper as example, Giants just lost close to 100 games in season just ended, no talent, why would you sign a free agent deal with Giants if get same cash from another team that is ready to win or is winning.

It is 2-3 years minimum to get players from draft to Big Leagues and with no minor league for 2020, really players at AAA are from past regime, AA is where the blend is. That said, some of Farhan's picks so far have not done anything in minors like Patrick Bailey but others are moving up. So 2024 is really when Farhan's draft picks should start to show up in the major leagues and if you are drafting and signing international talent, every year you are generating half a dozen or so players from your system that are ready for big leagues.

Farhan likely has an extension in his pocket that is not announced but who is better that the Giants can get to run the show.

Exactly why Judge wouldn't want come here. You can't just sign one guy. If Farhan really wanted to get Harper then he needed to make a whole host of moves to show he is committed. Proven guys who give you a real chance to win.

18 Giants make under 1,000,000 a year. Most of them starters. Webb makes less then 1,000,000.
Bart, Estrada, Doval, Rogers, Gonzales and Villar all on that list. They have plenty of money to spend. Dodgers on the other hand are top heavy. If they don't win this year, and it's not a sure thing, given their playoff record, they may have to blow it up. Although Dave Roberts guaranteed the Dodgers will win World Series this year.

Tough to sign right hand power hitter to come to Oracle. If really committed and too appeal to free agent. First Rodon - 5-$150m, Correria -7-$225m, Judge 8 - $325m, and get one more Left hand power bat and there you have what you need to start.

The Doyers haven’t done much lately.. they won the Covid tournament.. that’s about it. But the “fans” act like they win it every year…

Right on time…. ;)

Who are these ‘fans’?

Dodger fans I know realize we are very fortunate to have an organization that puts in the effort and dollars to put a quality team on the field year after year. And we support that.

Winning divisions like they have done is an amazing accomplishment. Winning 6 rings in LA and having the opportunity to win more of them makes for exciting baseball.

The Giants will get back in the hunt someday and Giants fans will have more to cheer about.
