I prefer bottomland. I just like the way it looks in timber, but not sure it matters that much to the ducks if you know how to hide. I've killed em in natural gear, old school brown camo, sitka you name it. Prob killed as many in high school in an old M-65 surplus jacket in green woodland camo even after leaves were off the trees, but aren't as many ducks in my area now. The ones we get now sure seem a lot smarter than the ones back then. Pretty sure they can't see me standing behind the tree, but I sure do like to blend in as much as possible, lol.

I think the Timber washs out less in direct sunlight than Bottomland. Of course if you can stay on the shaded side of cover does it matter!
That’s kinda my take looking at pictures and stuff . I use to wear the Advantage Timber years ago when it came out . I was kinda attracted to the Timber pattern , but I’m more of a Mossy Oak person .

Best camo pattern Mossy Oak ever had for timber/woods background hunting was original Breakup, not the green patterned New breakup they they eventually changed it to. It was marketed just afer Original Bottomland became popular. It had the dark & light contrast same as Realtree Timber, Sitka Timber patterns and didn,t wash out in direct sunlight. Wish they,d bring it back but Between the Realtree & Sitka patterns there's substitute's a plenty .

For timber, bottomland. But I also have become a fan of the Columbia Timberwolf pattern.

I prefer bottomland between the two but timber breaks your outline better imo.

That said I only end up with new patterns on waders as that unfortunately tends to be what I replace modt often. I have some nat gear waders at the moment and usually just wear the old brown camo jacket unless I'm in the woods. Then I try not to wear a jacket at all, just a natgear hoody. Reason being if I trip and need to go to my knees the coat doesn't get soaked.

I like Bottomland, but like some others, I am a Mossy Oak fan. Bottomland is my second favorite camo pattern, right behind the Original ShadowGrass. :tu
