I love the way Bottomland looks. That being said, I have to admit in my heart, that Timber, at least to my eye, disappears much better in the timber habitat around m neck of the woods...

Best camo pattern Mossy Oak ever had for timber/woods background hunting was original Breakup, not the green patterned New breakup they they eventually changed it to. It was marketed just afer Original Bottomland became popular. It had the dark & light contrast same as Realtree Timber, Sitka Timber patterns and didn,t wash out in direct sunlight. Wish they,d bring it back but Between the Realtree & Sitka patterns there's substitute's a plenty .

I’d put ShadowBranch way and of BreakUp. There were several years and patterns between BottomLand and BreakUp. GreenLeaf (best spring turkey pattern they ever made), Full Foliage, Fall Foliage, Treestand, Shadow Grass and Shadow Branch all came out prior to BreakUp.

We were sitting on marsh stools in a flooded cornfield the other day. Camo was very important then.

I’d put ShadowBranch way and of BreakUp. There were several years and patterns between BottomLand and BreakUp. GreenLeaf (best spring turkey pattern they ever made), Full Foliage, Fall Foliage, Treestand, Shadow Grass and Shadow Branch all came out prior to BreakUp.

Fall foliage was an awesome pattern I still have a jacket I'd wear if i didn't outgrow it.

A few years back they came back out with full foliage so I picked up shirt, pants and turkey vest in it.

If it’s rained or raining the bark of red oaks is nearly black. The bottomland matches nicely. If trees are dry and your up against say, a swamp bur oak, with the sun slightly getting into you, then Natural Gear. It’s harder to not get seen on a cloudy day, so dark patterns. I’ve used this same concept bow hunting. When it comes to turkeys, get some green in a dark pattern. Turkeys don’t just pick out your outline but features too. Don’t have to but an old leafy wear upper jacket, can be a game changer.

I,ll agree with you on the Green Leaf, still use it turkey hunting and our Early teal season . I actually think Mossy Oaks latest rendition of Shadow Grass is Better but I used their old pattern quite a bit. Liked shadow Branch but still think for my use the Original Breakup was better. Could just back up to a big tree and seemed to disappear to ducks & geese. Never did care for their New Breakup pattern for my use. All their patterns were a lot better hunting a wooded background than the old school tan camo of course unless you were hunting a picked corn field. And Mossy Oaks Original Shadow Grass was even better than that. The camo patterns sure have come a long way over many years from my earliest years of an O.D. Green refrigiware jkt!
