Inasmuch as we are getting a lot of new member stopping by, I'm posting this for everyone's reminder on the basic rules of conduct here.

The following is a copy of the post that David has put up in all forums here at the Refuge on several occasions in the past.

These are his rules we are following. He's been more than polite about it and we owe him the respect he deserves for providing us this great place to hang on on the 'Net.

It's his "house", and we are his guests. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution doesn't apply here.

Got it?

Thanks,

WoodieSC

I need your help on this matter please..

The "F" word is NOT to be used here at the forums in any shape, form, or fashion.

If I can tell that is what the word is, no matter how you try to post it, I will remove your post if I find it. Also, you will NOT be notified that your post has been removed.

If you do it twice, you will be placed as a restrictive member which will not allow you to use the PM System, Email System, or Upload Images here at the forums for 90 days.

If you do it three times, you will be banned from the site for 90 days.

This includes such examples as...

***
F*-!
F*-K
F OFF.
***
F**K, etc..

Friggin, freakin, etc.. is okay.. It pertains to the use of the "F" word only.

In other words, if it looks like the word, it will qualify as use of the word.

I ask that the Mods please notify me concerning the use of this word if you see it.

We have always tried to run a site here that anyone can visit, whether it's youngsters, wives, girlfriends, pastors, etc...

I'm not a saint by no stretch of the imagination, but there is no need for this word here at the forums, nor will it be permitted.

Thanks,

David

NOTE - This also includes distasteful photos, photos with sexual content, etc.

I fully understand this and will adhere to it, but in your view what is the difference between the word you stated and say "freakin"? We all know it is just more of a socially acceptable version of the same word. I am a Lenny Bruce style advocate, so I wonder about these things on a philosophical basis.
Thanks for any input. Like I say it's just a philosophical question, so don't bother to answer if you are busy or, well, just don't care to! :l:tu
Thanks,

Thanks,

Thanks for your understanding. As noted by the OP (in 2006) and in multiple threads since... this one has been debated Ad nauseam (pick yer word, variation, connotation) so many times over the years and little of value has ever surfaced. Essentially, from time to time someone will take the opportunity to share their opinion (we all know what opinions are like) while wasting the time of others. Its kinda a cause de jure for new arrivals who know of a better life for all and want to share their image of how things ought to be. Bottom line; the forum (like all forums) is a private enterprise and the standards are at the pleasure of ownership. Carry on. :l

I fail to see the value or purpose of your question... and particularly your apparent "CA(D) attitude".

The post of the original owner, which has been also continued by the new owners, is pretty obvious. My opinion, nor yours, matters not. Just follow the established rules or leave. It's really pretty simple... ;)

And, btw, a person could say they were "freakin' out", so, as you can see, there are multiple, appropriate, definitions possible in that regard.
