Here is a photo, of two NOS Heads from local retailer [in Lenawee county] that I need to paint as "Sentry & feeder" Canada goose.

I thinking about flocking the heads except for the Cheek patch and 'Filling into the head joint either bees wax or a friction tape over that joint??

Would silver glitter dusted on the eyes be help or hindrance [or packing tape for a shine surface]??

Anyone have old heads with the flambeau connector should or know of a source?

    Advise.

    Will post body picture shortly.

Thanks. Two snow goose heads for 1985 series Flambuea goose bodies 16July2021.jpg

Just paint the eyes with gloss black enamel.
Let's not make this waterfowling stuff too complicated.

Gloss black nail polish is simpler, yet.

    That would work, too.

Only problem I ever had with those Flambeau convert-a-goose head joints is the head wanting to come off the neck. A couple wraps of electrical tape around the neck part of the connection before putting the head on usually tightened them up. If you flock them, the birds arent going to see that joint. They arent going to see that joint if you paint them. If you really think you need to paint a shine on the eye you can do it like these old silos, but I think you are over thinking it.

Yep, way over thinking it. If birds really do notice little details like eye shine they would flare from the body and head shapes of those Flambeaus long before. If having shine on the eyes floats your boat, use some gloss black paint or clear nail polish.

I used black dry wall screws and screwed all the heads on permanently. They do all right for filling in a spread on the water but are better used on a field set up.
