They'll surely work fine
Well, did some painting and what is your pronouncements.
First are the heads as found in the back of store.
And after painting ]
the pair in the sun.
Put a doobie in there and post a re-pic...
I would use some paintable caulk or liquid nails on the head joint rather than bees wax. On the body you could get some quick feather detail using spray paint. Paint the back with camo tan paint the lightly spray over from the front to back on the top and sides varying the amount of brown to your liking. Pretty quick and really give a nice realistic look to the decoys with the feather contrasts of light to dark.
Just make sure you clean them good prior to painting or flocking for good adhesion
