Y’all keeping up with the effort to put the right to hunt and fish on the Florida ballot in ‘24? With the population growth, if there’s a state which needs such a measure, it’s Florida.

Hopefully, nothing like that gets on the ballot in Michigan. The SE part of the state controls the rest of the state because of its population. They are why we can not hunt doves. When the ability to hunt them was put on the ballot their vote turned it down flat..

Uh, if passed, this would make hunting and fishing a constitutional right in the state. As written right now, hunting and fishing are required to be the primary tool in conservation. Many states have codified this right. Some wrote it better than others.

That is a big IF!
IF it goes on a ballot the SE part of the state would most likely turn it down just like they did with the dove bill.
If it is up to our house and senate and requiring the signature of the Governess. They are all controlled by the Democrats so who knows?

This is in Florida. If it passes, great. If it doesn’t, nothing changes. Michigan tried and failed in 2014 https://ballotpedia.org/Michigan_Right_to_Hunt_and_Fish_Amendment_(2014). Did you support the effort?

Yes I DID! As a hunter, trapper, and fisherman you should know I supported both of them.
The wolf issue was turned down by the wolf lovers mainly by the SE part of the state. That should be left up to those that live with them, the UP, not those who do not.
You have to love the state of Idaho. They told the Feds that they were going to control, not the FEDS!
The second issue about the DNR being able to declare game animals is the one that stopped us from being able to hunt dove. Again you can understand what area of the state with their voter numbers turned that issue down.

No argument. Hopefully Florida can get this passed. The insane influx of transplants is changing the landscape at an obscene rate.
