Really slow morning almost zero puddle ducks flying. Ended up having a group of ringnecks come thru and I didn't give them there usual free pass haha. It made the dog happy and that's what counts !!

I had the same thought, the hen looks different, has nice brown colors.

She’s getting the white on her head common to older Aythya hens. Redhead’s really show that as well.

Some of the guys in my area call ringers "baby cans," cause they generally have a nice layer of white fat and eat well if picked out... Under-rated bird for sure...
