    At age 93...heart attack.

I remember being at a Giants game at The Stick when the Dodger first base coach got ejected. Tom Lasorda trots out toward first base, where he would spend the rest of the game as first base coach. Of course, he ran out amidst a shower of boos, and blew kisses back to the fans. He was one of a kind and I really dug his antics, even as a die-hard Giants fan.

    Anyone else have Lasorda stories?

I have no idea if it’s true or not but I heard a story where a reporter asked Tommy why he called Darrell strawberry a dog. Tommy replied “I didn’t call him a dog a dog would run after a ball”.

Ran into him outside the park at the 2012 world series game 2. He was super nice to all the Giants fans. Took pictures etc. Lots of people recognized him and said hi which was cool to see all the Giants fans embrace a great Manager, even tho he was from the Dodger blue empire.

I still love the time they spelled his jersey name wrong. We still call him Tommy Lasodra to this day because of it.

Just waved at him a few times while getting my car serviced at Renick Cadillac Subaru in Fullerton...maybe 2002’ish?

He was very well liked by the locals!

I met him at a Hot Stove dinner and I will say if he wasn’t a Baseball icon he could have been a top biller in Vegas doing stand up!

Coming from a life long Giants fan... If there was any Dodger that we liked to see especially at candlestick park, it was Tommy. The way he could get us fired up was classic and all in fun and respect. That guy was baseball thru and thru. RIP.

I hate the Dodgers but always laughed at Tommy. He made the rivalry with the Giants even more fun.
