Roe Vs. Wade and Upcoming elections?

My take... Roe V Wade was overturned due to the fact that the Supreme Court is not supposed to create legislation... Good decision. Irregardless of the subject of abortion.

But... During a time with such poor leadership from the left, and the right was just about guaranteed to take seats in house, Senate, and likely the next presidential election... Roe V Wade comes along, and will likely turn many, many fence sitters/moderates back towards the Dems...

Many moderates that have had about enough of current policies will now never vote for a Republican due to this decision coming down.... Right or wrong, (Roe V Wade) has become a devise decision, and upcoming political campaigns and elections will likely become increasingly divisive. Good decision that very well could have a negative impact???

It will not cause moderates to "never vote for a Republican". If they are a moderate, they see this for what it is.

There are some moderates upset, not because of the ruling, but because they know it will upset the idiots. They just wish we had done this after the election because the media has them convinced we will now lose the next election. It is not true.

But they are for the most part happy Roe was overturned, or okay with letting the states do the laws.

The only people fired up about this is the far left. Those purple haired idiots are not going to change their vote nor use reason in their logic. They are governed by emotion.

Conservatives are fired up. Trump has been out of office for a year and he is still saving the country through his SC nominees. If the left ever gets the court, we will cease to be a country.

The media has brainwashed you and a lot of others into believing that if we get what we want, we lose everything. "Moderates" don't want what we want. We have to compromise in order to get a few crumbs of what we want.

Simple fact is, what is now considered conservative was moderate just 20 years ago. What is liberal now was full blown socialist 20 years ago. The democrats that are moderate(and there are no moderate politicians other than Mansion and Sinema) are older people that registered democrat 50 years ago. They have been voting Republican for the last 20 years in the presidential. They tend to vote for the same incumbents in local elections, but as those are replaced, they will be replaced with Republicans(although most will be RINOs from those districts).

You are mistakenly believing that most dems are socialists, I think most are RINOs and in party denial.

Finally, the "moderates" see a reason to vote Republican.

This is just what the right needs. Finally we have some victories.

I hear what you're saying, Squaller, and you make a worthwhile point... however, if we stick to our guns and make it continually clear that it is the STATES that should have, and now have, the CONTROL that should never have been taken away from them, I believe any negative impact can be thwarted.

There's no question that even some normally sane people are upset, such as my wife, but only because she feels like, once again, that men and government authorities are pushing their opinions on women. She understands and agrees that this should be at the State level, but... anyway, I reminded her that she had a hysterectomy at age 35 and none of these decisions affect her. She didn't like my opinion, but she never votes, so that's a moot point.

I agree. For the most part, even among the dems upset about Roe v Wade, when it come time to vote,7 dollar gas is a little more important on their daily schedule.

Frankly, I don't care. Tossing RvW is the biggest civil rights win in my lifetime. Not only was it the right thing for our system of justice it will also save a lot of lives.

That said, I think most people care more about their own pocket book and they are going to vote that way.

IMO that's what happened last time, they see Trump pulling 30 to 50 thousand
people and their guy couldn't fill up the short bus he rode there on. Never ever
underestimate Democrats to do whatever it takes to win a election. Their so
low they could walk under a snakes belly.

I don't see it as being beneficial to the GOP from a purely political standpoint. I agree that it will likely push some fence sitters towards the Democrats. In my experience, most independents are at least socially empathetic, if not socially liberal. Voter turnout among independents/unaffiliated is generally lower than it is among those who have a party preference, but this decision could potentially increase the turnout among independents. Generally speaking, increased voter turnout does not benefit the GOP.
