Looks like they took a direct hit from a large violent EF3+ damage. One of the chaser feeds had damage pics and it looked pretty high end. Trees taken down to basically the trunk and debarked. Chaser said people are screaming from the rubble for help and they are doing SAR. Those folks need your prayers. Looking at the pics I am sure folks lost their lives tonight.

Edit: Looks like Silver City also took a direct hit. Chasers reporting homes swept away and they are doing SAR.

Will keep these folks in my thoughts, hopefully no lives lost.
Honestly I think alot of folks lost their lives. I am a weather nerd so I was looking at the data as it rolled into Rolling Fork. I had a sick feeling in my stomach because I am sure folks were dying. Looking at pics coming out of there it appears it would be hard to survive above ground near the center of the tornado. I pray I am wrong.

Looks like it may have just went straight through Winona MS a moment ago.

I just drove through there last night on my way to Louisiana. Our phones lit up with alerts. Steve was watching the radar on his Ipad as we came to it...didn't realize it was a tornado.
We drove through it's path where it crossed I55 just south of Winona, Ms...we estimate less than 5 minutes after the tornado. Had debris falling on the truck. It was the nastiest storm I ever drove through...with visibility less than 30ft for several miles!

It was intense!! When we got to it's path and seen all the trees on the road and the shredded forest in the lightning flickers...we knew what happened, and how close we were to hitting it.

Yep it was a scary evening down south. I hate it when it hits at night.

With the level of destruction that this storm caused, short of leaving and abandoning everything these folks could have been in the safest places in their homes and still not made it through safely. Prayers continue to go out to all impacted by this devastating storm.
