I live near Webster SD there are some motels in town the bigger city like Aberdeen, Watertown there's lots of hotels most are pet friendly last time I checked. As far as fields go you just drive around till you find them and knock on doors. If you can get your hands on a plat book for the county, you're hunting in it helps with finding the landowner. The way the weather is looking I think most of them will find a way around my area we have deep snow here.

I was introduced to OnX hunt app last September while hunting pronghorn in the Northern Texas Panhandle. To me it's definitely worth the money to know who owns the land and how many acres they have in addition to accurate boundaries!

I wouldn't get lodging until you find birds or know the area you will be hunting. No worse than to to drive an extra hour or so for lodging if the birds are elsewhere.

I can give you the name who rents out a house but you will have to get permission on your own on spots.
