Fabarms have spring over mag tube. XLR 5 and L4S
Killerv - Look at my post I put "AL391" which the original Extrema not A391 or 391. I was very specific. I think he is looking for gun without a recoil spring in the stock to not have to deal with that issue.
I've got 3 AL391s. A 12 & 20 field model and a Sporting Clay's 12. All 3 have the spring in the butt stock.
The Xtrema is also labeled AL391. "AL391 Xtrema2". Spring on the magazine.
I know. I think all 391s are AL391s. Dont have much experience with anything newer than the original AL391s but I was pretty sure at some point they started putting the spring on the magazine.
My AL391 Urika and my A300 both have their recoil springs in the buttstock, no spring on the mag tube. I just verified that.
The AL391 Extrema2 does have the spring on the magazine tube.
I like my 391 Teckny with all the Tricked out aftermarket parts and pieces along with the step-rib 30" barrel but my 28" Silver with the Prince of Wales
stock is a bird killing machine with Steel Shot out of it's .742 bore and a LM .014 extended choke . It even has the relief ports at the bottom of the stocks
spring tube . Some engineering designs are worth looking for , other than that , it's whether your gun / choke likes the ammo you're shooting and whether
you can shoot straight .
The bolt doesn't always close completely. And when hand cycling it, it closes slowly sometimes.
The AL391 urika had them in the stock.
I don't know how much luck you have had with the xlr5, but they are falling apart at our gunclub. Good friend of mines unloaded his after it was sent back to the factory about 3 times.
