I totally agree!!!
id never even heard of one before this thread, wasn’t sure they handed any at all lol
There are banding studies on every migratory bird species in North America. Everything from Hummingbirds to Bald Eagles.
In a heartbeat. Where I live most deer hunting is done with buckshot, its like shooting big rabbits when you get to shoot one running.
I've killed three banded Gadwall, two at Delevan NWR, one at Modoc NWR.
One one guy in my group wants to jump them up or only shoot on the wing. Everyone else is fine with shooting non-crippled on the water.
That one guy also tree-tops the early flying woodys and such, so no one really takes his criticism serious.
He should be content shooting whats left after the rest of y'all jump them for him with your first shots.
You remind me of a friend of mine that lived on a lake during college. He and his roommates spent all their money of weed and beer, so they occasionally ate the local mallards on Sundays - lured them in with bread and then caught them on a doughball using a fishing rod and treble hook and pulled them in through the sliding glass door.
This is the one thing in hunting around here I haven’t done. I am dying to jump a buck with a 12ga loaded with buckshot in my hands. I jump so many in bow season it boggles my mind I can’t get it done during gun season. Someday....
The 2 biggest bucks I've killed (both 8s about 220-230lbs) were shot walking ditches in soybean fields with buckshot. I've killed several deer like that. I've shot them in front dogs and man drives too, any running deer with a shotgun is fun.
