I was striper fishing few yrs ago and looked over at my rod and saw this one creeping About 8inches from my buddies leg. I said don’t move a muscle

I reached over and pinched his head off with my cut bait knife

Such neat looking snakes. That looks to be a good sized one too. Not exactly the kind you'd expect to find in your boat either.

It was first time of the year taking boat out
So me thinks that he was either in there from my garage

Or we were pitching live baits and he could have entered as we brsyshed tree tips on edge of bank

My dad was helping me w a hay crop few yrs back. He was running Tedder and stopped to open a gate. He said he kicked his shin bone against tractor step getting back in.

Now my dad been known to drink a 5th or so of scotch when he’s working outside :) so he was lit

Called me that night and said it was killing him. I went to check on him and he had two perfect fang marks right in the middle of his shin bone.

Took him to dr and a copperhead had struck him . He thought he had kicked the tractor :)

This one was heading up the front steps yesterday. Pretty docile, didn't appear to be bothered when I picked it up and moved him View attachment 389635
I have probably set the Fuge record of saying "heebie jeebies " in a thread and once again, a pic such as yours has given me the heebie jeebies.
Just how does one go up to such a vile serpent and "pick it up and move it " ? ... or did you move it via a 12' long hoe after repeated beatings to the head ?
