Yesterday I Talked to biologist friend of mine who helps manage 11,000 acres of land. Good turkey land.. He's seen 4 poults thus far and he's in the field all the time.

    I have seen zero.

Im still on zero as well.
There is supposed to be an article coming out in a farming and ranching magazine about coyotes in KS. Kstate research shows coyote numbers have increased 3x since 1980.

You wouldn’t know that according to the predator hunting forums. They say that they’re all gone! Not that I believe that...

I am not saying the past couple years, especially with floods and other things, that the turkey population has grown but I still see they are thriving. Now a lot of this is in MO with a small sample size from SEKS.

Kansas turkey season is setup a TON different than Missouri's though.

I am confused as to why not?

I understand parts of central Kansas that are more like Western Kansas but to say the East 1/3 to 1/2 of the state cant be compared to Missouri makes me curious as to why.

Can anyone find any recent turkey harvest reports for KS? The only thing I can find leads up to 2013. I am interested in seeing the numbers.

Turkey numbers are way down in much of Missouri (and many other states), too.
