I had a bps , shot several boxs one morning had no problem, next day shot couple more boxs the big 10 dosn't bother me like I said I'm a big guy, theres only one time it hirt me was 5 years ago with my first bps 10 I didnt get the stock on my shoulder it ended up on me chest that one stung a little bet. Now for that nef 12ga 3 1/2 turkey gun that only weighs 5 pounds that sob with a 2 1/4 oz turkey load is killer it'll make a man out of you or break your shoulder trying. My brother-in-law shot it sitting down with his back against a shooting table well it laid him on the ground for about 5 min. he sold it that day.

If you want a good single shot 10g, a H&R with the 30 inch barrel is a brute of a gun. Its so freakin heavy that it makes it smooth to aim. I used that gun in the past hunting around Eagle Lake, TX and talk about reaching out on some birds. I would buy a case of shells($20) and it would last me all morning. When you missed and the birds are still within range, your always P.O. that you didnt have a pump or an auto. When I was younger and hunting without a gun, my dad would shoot and my job was to load in another 10g shell in,lol. We could easily get off 2 shots on birds.

I've always thought that the NEF and similar 10 Ga. and 12 Ga, 3 1/2" Single shots are really cool.

With a little practice, you could get two good shots off into a flock of geese.

Plus, they're heavy enough that they won't knock you into the middle of next week.

Plus plus...you , your kids, and your grand kids, would never wear it out.

Plus plus plus...if you ever decided you didn't want it, it would be easy to sell and regain alot of the purchase price (always easier with lower ticket items).

DO IT!!!:tu \

Happy single barrel blasting!

the NEF I think only had a 30 inch barrel My H/R model 176 was a 36 inch full choke and with rem nitro Mag 3 1/2 BB 1 3/4 oz load was a killer used it as the back up gun/long range cannon

BPS 10, 30 inch barrel, Terror .720, 10gaugenuts handloads- you’ll be a true believer.

Jump in with both feet or just be soggy.
Got my Bps late dec 2021 just picked up the .720 and .705 Terror couple months ago have not tried the patterns yet

Couldn’t you just put a bigger plug in your magazine? You could make it a single shot for far less than the cost of a single-dimensional NEF.

The single shots are fun to shoot.

H&R single shots:
The “Sitka” pattern is a 32” fixed mod, the grey and wood is 32” fixed Full. The .410 has killed some geese.

Anyone shooting a 10ga single shot or 12ga 3 1/2 thought about going to a single 10 and using hevishot that way I have to make sure the first shot counts and it would be alot cheaper then loading 3 into my auto because my finger has a mind of its own lol.
Ever thought of simply loading only one shell in your autoloader?
