I have had Helly-Hansen's... No comparison to the comfort or effectiveness of Sitka for shooting waterfowl.

To each his own, but the HH Guide Coat is better suited to my usage. More apt to be warm here in South Louisiana than really cold, and I don't know of anything truly waterproof that actually breaths meaningfully and can't imagine how Sitka's extra Gortex layers would help it differ from the single layer stuff I've had. But the HHGC's back vent and side zippers offer some warm weather relief. The HHGC's knee length keep's my arse dry when worn over hip boots and jeans. And of great importance to this layer believer who loves a 1/4zip pullover shell with a pouch rather than pockets, the side zippers allow me to get cold hands inside that pouch where two Zippos and wool glove liners are keeping each other hot and cozy and those hands comfortable between call, shooting and duck handling stints.

Works for me. Nice to know others are happy with whatever keeps them so.

I'll never wear the Sitka stuff. It's like a cult, and a bad one.
