I know Eva, but I'm further north near the Henry County line. My retriever club meets in Lavinia and I'm in Jackson frequently enough.

I live in Jackson and have a house on the river in Decatur County. Quite a few canebrakes along the river here.

You could teach your grandkids not to be afraid of them, yeah? They won't hurt your gkids.

Snakes are harmless and nothing to fear, even the venomous ones. Don't try to catch/grab one and your danger drops down to near zero.

Glad I'm not the only grown *** man that hates snakes. I'd rather walk outside and see a bear or a mountain lion than any kind of snake. Hate them all, every single one. Had a 4' black snake in my living room last year. I felt violated lol.

When I was very young we lived close to St Louis, my mother would take us to the zoo occasionally. I would talk her into going to the reptile building, I still remember the size of some of the snakes there. She was a good sport about it & handled it well.

I'm pretty much a live and let live kinda guy. I've not seen any venomous snakes on my property, so everything gets a pass. Hardly ever see them but they're around. I've found dried skins in the crawl space underneath the house and in my truck box. A couple of rat snakes is a good thing to have around.

Do you know Tatum Creek Labs from Lyles, TN? Owners are good friends.
