There's two babies in there somewhere.
They sure have had a tough time of it. Unusually cold and now the snow.
My wife has been checking on them this week and said they seem to be doing well.
Mom is feeding them now.
Keep watching, as they get bigger you won't believe the animals they bring to the nest. Last year a Eagle brought a house cat to the nest. They really ramp up the kills when they get bigger.
Pretty cool , they are eating a mouse right now.
My timing is terrible. I have not caught feeding time yet.
I guess I've been lucky. Just checked in and both parents were gone. Then he female came back empty handed.
Dad showed up with a coot. Both chicks crawled over and watched him pluck it.
The male is a great hunter/gatherer. The other day I saw two squirrels, a coot, and a good sized catfish in the nest.
Seems to be a little sibling rivalry.
If you read the blogs pretty interesting stuff. The eagles that hatches first will try to subdue or even kill the younger one, only the strong survive. They just can't catch a break with the nasty weather they are having there.
