We were right next to the X with a smaller spread due to the muddy field. We also decided to lay on a levy vs be out in the mud laying in whites and it cost us 10-15 birds plus, some cranes and probably pintail, but still had a good shoot and didn't get everything covered in mud.

If the birds decoy like they did today, e-caller season could be very good here. I was given a hay bale blind I really want to try out for e-caller. Have to grass it well, but I bet it could be fun to hunt from.

I like how you can actually see the shot going to the target . Very cool. Can see the hits and misses well with the shotkam.

Nice! sometimes it's worth sacrificing a few birds for comfort. I assume this was Texas. Do you think you have more snows down there this season?

Yes Texas and the count was released last week and the guys who hunt/scout a lot think the count is way under. I saw more birds last week scouting than I have all season. I hope they weren't heading north yet, but who knows.

Do you use the most recent shotkam? I'm thinking that is the shotkam 3?

Yes. I forgot the model names, but its the most recent one. They haven't released a new version in about two years but I know they are working on one. They posted up some teaser info about a year ago but I can't find it now.

They told me they plan on having the new version out late 2020. I have no idea what changes it will have, but that is what I was told when I emailed them a month or so ago.
