My son is Looking for a 2005 or newer Tacoma.
Please PM me with any possibilities. Thanks, Rich
Good luck...I currently have 4 Tacomas in my fleet and have sold 2 others recently. Resale value is insane, expect to pay 15k plus for one in good shape, 10 years old or even older.
Crazy how they hold their value- got $10k for my 05 with 280+ k miles.
Bought a new 18 because used ones were within a grand or two of a new one.
Great trucks as long as you don’t tow anything heavy.
Check out Tacoma world classifieds.
Both of these^^^^^. Tell him to look for a 93 or older with decent body and interior($5-7k) and a 22re, drop a stage 1 rebuild from 22re Performance($2.5k) and drive it for the next 500k. Cheers
My first pickup wasn't a Tacoma but a base model 91 Toyota. It had 400k on it when I gave it to my little brother. It had the 22re.
Your son can find a pretty good deal on older Tacoma. My current truck is a 1997, looked good when I got it (not so much anymore), and had a new 2.7 engine in it. I paid 6000 for it.
There's a reason the Tacomas hold such excellent resale value. They are absolute tanks and incredibly well built trucks. Paying for great equipment only hurts once.
My uncle has a mid 80's taco in excellent condition. I want to buy that bad boy so bad! He still uses it at his duck club to get to the blinds.
Great choice, Ill keep my eyes out for ya.
The old tacomas are absolutely great trucks. My only worry is airbags, I believe they started in 94.5? somewhere around there.
I have an 18 as my daily driver and love it. Comfy, reasonable gas mileage, and get the family and gear wherever we are going unless we need the big truck.
Ball joints are an issue to.
Airbags? Who needs airbags?
We die like real men.
