The only excuse for not painting a Chinese ballon symbol under the canopy of an F-16 right now is that we're collecting intelligence on it before we vaporize it. Unfortunately, I have my doubts that's what's going on. As others have said, there isn't anything this balloon can see that the Chinese can't already see with other means; it's purely a provocation to test what we'll do. And what we'll do is evidently nothing.
