Always looking to improve, thought I'd throw out a question for the Spec pros. Hunting rice with a smallish spec spread, 20 floaters and a dozen silos on the check. The spread is a reverse J hook starting 15ish yards off the blind and extending about 40-50 yards diagonal. The specs are floating over looking but not wanting to commit to the spread it seems. They show interest and will circle once then bug out and not want to finish. There are no decoys around the blind, I'm thinking they are looking at the sound of the call but aren't seeing decoys directly from where the sound is coming from. That's my hypothesis anyways. Any thoughts on changing up the spec spread or giving the birds a different look? Thanks in advance for any input.
