We have some specks that do not migrate that hang out for the summer. Usually juviniles or non-breeding adults. You might have the same thing although reports are stating seeing some early specks are showing up.

I saw my first specks of the season today. We had a good north wind blowing and alot of pintails were coming through as well.

Anyone down south of Nebraska besides bullpinnie see any specks arrive this week? I am wondering if any number of them showed up. Was wondering if the few we saw last Tues and Wed were just a little tid bit. Never know they fly super high altitude over our state.

Don't count your specks before they hatch!

We are seeing thousands or specks now and 99% are barred. That said, it is not unusual here to see mostly adult birds this early but the numbers do seem higher than normal for this early as well.

We have a small front today. I heard one bunch so far but couldn't see them. We have a fairly low ceiling today. 3 weeks till our season opener!
