I am running one pretty close to yours.

33 steel powder
csd 078
5/8 steel B-2
1/2 tss 7-9
fold crimp
Tested average 1423fps

I have shot a lot of B X 7 at geese and they worked just fine Aprox 143 pellets
friend is running another load using gold metal and sam 1 with 1.25 and shooting a 2X9 and crushing everything.

Got a few things to have tested this coming summer. Just need Alliant to put some Steel powder on the market getting a little low.

I just wish I could find some steel powder. With where I live, everything has to be ordered online and i cant seem to find any instock at the moment.

If you step the load down to half ounce apiece steel shot and TSS you can safely run a Fed 209a primer at 33 gns, get speed up to just over 1500, have less felt recoil, and not at all miss the 1/8 ounce of steel shot left in the bin.

As an aside, Sunday a week ago had a large Canada goose (weighed 9.2 lbs. on digital scales) coming in a bit wide and torched off a load of TSS in BB's at more of a broadside presentation. The bird's head and neck rolled up on its back at the shot. When dressing it out there were seven (7) wound channels in the main body area. All had complete pass through of the pellets. I didn’t mean to use this cartridge as was reaching in the blind bag for the HW-15 in #7's instead to replace the #4 steel loads. Shotgun was a Ithaca M37 with HWL barrel & IC tube.

Ched standard primer

TPS wad
2x1/8" nitro cards in wad
109gr TSS
327gr steel shot

This load is not pressure tested, it’s a modified load out of the Bpi advantages manual. The original load is listed at 10400psi and 1490fps. Load ID# 121001-4243 if anyone is interested in looking into the original load.

2-3/4” Fio hull
Fio 616(209) primer
35gn. Lil Gun
TPS 2-3/4” wad with 4 slits
1) 3/8” 32ga. fiber wad
2) 1/4” 28ga. felt wads
218gn. or 1/2oz. TSS #9
126gn. steel #3
6pt. fold crimp

The Cheddite shell has slightly less volume than the Fio and required 1.5 less powder to get the wad height right.
