Between deer season and trapping finally got to goose hunting yesterday. Still impressed with how well these are working on geese. I missed a few but when I took my time and kept my head down with a good follow through it folds them up hard over decoys.
I was using my faster handload 105 pellets of #1 steel running 1630 fps avg. Moss 930 with a carlson mod choke.

All you need if you let them work into range, and your shoulder feels better afterwards.

Why 1630 fps when 1450/1475 fps is more than enough ? All it is , is a waste of powder as the performance of #1's will be farther than your ability to
hit anything with a payload that size !

I like them fast too. The 2 3/4” can hold enough of a payload to hurt your shoulder.

I defaulted to handloading 3 and 3.5” for hunting steel so that I don’t accidentally mix up some lead reloads.

When I was working up loads I ended up with 2 that patterned really well out of my moss 930. One is Chris's HG load it's running I think 1500fps would have to look at my notes. The other is the 1630 which I only loaded up a couple of box's. Once their shot up Chris's load is what I will be using as it does everything I need.

Yep Chris's HG load of #2's was a dandy , I assume you were talking about the one he loaded in a Cheddite 3" hull cut down ?
OR was it his everyday load in a standard Cheddite 2 3/4" hull ?

Have used the Federal GM hull for it as well.
