    Anybody been following this?

Apparently a sky scraper sized vessel hauling shipping containers is blocking the canal, causing major commerce related problems. I saw a photo earlier today I thought was kinda funny. What a cluster and undoubtedly will be the reason given for the cost of goods to increase.

At least it won't impede the shipment of ammo from Bosnia.

One backhoe... That's like having a guy come out in a row boat to see if he can tow it back to the harbor.

We have the big 1,000 + foot boats that come in and out here in Duluth, surprisingly the tugboats that pull these things around aren't actually that big. We really get them out when the ice comes in and the big boats need to be rotated and moved to be pulled into station.

Is there really nobody that could pull this guy out? How much does the new Dodge dually tow?

Maybe call up AAA, they'll be there between Tuesday and 2024, make sure you're standing next to it with your AAA card.

I saw a commercial of a Toyota Tundra hauling a space ship around, they ought to use that.

I saw on another site that supposedly 1/10 online retail purchase orders will be screwed up from this. Not sure how they can extrapolate that all
out but if thats true, what a PITA.

Too bad it's not blocking our borders. Slowem down for a bit at least.

I guess they don't have vessel assistance coverage.

This vessel is 11 football fields long and loaded to the hilt. (220,000 tons)
They had a Suez pilot running it but apparently lost power and steering in the channel.
The bow dug in and momentum carried the stern around to wedge the boat.
(That, and there was a vicious sand storm going on, so the wind helped.)
This is a MAJOR undertaking to get this thing floating and they have 120 ships backed up awaiting passage.
12% of trade passes through this canal.
As far as ****shows go, they don't get any more FUBAR than this one.
