We (the boy and I) were invited to the youth area With Darin and Kevin Norda (aka Stuckduck and RMK 400) with our very own Darren Camblin (cut emnova) doing the calling. We got set up and waited for the birds. One bird came in and worked. It came right over the top at about 10 yards and the boy took the shot. Unfortunately it was just in front (too much lead). Darren took a few feathers out of the rear but it kept going. After a few birds worked two groups of two came in (none left). Then the smaller flocks of 25 started to fly. They would just circle and hook up with the next group. Needless to say, at one time we had about 200 birds circling us and making all sorts of racket. Nothing would work the dekes and they ended up just circling until they got dizzy and left. After awhile we called it a day. As Darren put it, we saved 5 from getting cold. The boy didnt get to shoot one but he had an awesome time trying. this is a great thing and I just wanted to say THANKS to the three for making my sons day. He did get blood on him also. Enjoy the pics.

How do you a kid on this hunt, do they need to meet a certain criteria? My boy has never shot a goose, that's why I ask?

    Marty,
I sure was glad to see these pics! I was told by Kevin that he never saw a kid run so fast to pic up some birds. The smile on your sons face is what makes it all worth it:tu i hope to make the next youth hunt.

you would talk with me. i am looking for kids who have never harvested a goose.

btw, no big hunting parties, just a kid and his dad.
