Don't leave us hangin', how'd it go?
WOW! What a great morning it was yesterday! We were to meet at the launch at 5am...I was there before 4! In the marsh a couple hours before shooting light, with just enough moonlight to not need a headlamp. Set our decoys and spinners up and waited for the time to slowly pass. Tons of mallards, woodies, and teal buzzed the hole and landed in the spread before the magic time of 7:09am hit. Unfortunately, the rusty trigger fingers of our crew was our downfall. It took us a few rounds to finally find our groove going and we were able to send 12 teal to the dinner table! Surprisingly, we only had 3 blue-winged hit the water while 9 of the ducks downed were the smaller, faster, and more elusive green-winged. A great morning and a great start to, hopefully, another epic season. I hope you all get the opportunity to have as many, if not more, awesome hunts as I do this year!
Season looking promising from these reports.
Excellent. Never would have guessed Michigan had so many local green-wings. Always thought of them as largely Canada's arboreal region breeders.
Had a great day in the correct runway.
Awesome job Snipe!
They were thick in our part of Texas middle Saturday of this season!
