THANKS soiltester for your help!
I believe that tom grew more since I saw that pic.
Think how big it will be next year...he'll have to start walking backwards just not to trip over it!
If I might ask, what’s the story on that ol longbeard?
Aunt Betty, dear, are we a tad bit jealous?? I know I am
Sure wish I'd seen one like that last week in MI
AB go over to the Calif... forum and enjoy my "thumbnail" there......then if you can't eat turkey you certainly can eat your words...
I couldn't post the pic before when I tried and soiltester help walk me through it!, Big thanks! As a result I AM experimenting with posting with my new found skill. I can't apologize enough if I don't meet your high standards of posting pics....really....I can't!
I took a 14 year old girl out on the last day of the junior hunt here....we called in three different groups of birds and she shot at all three groups 5 times total and missed. At that point she was all out of the shells her father brought for her so we hiked back out to the vehicles.
As we were hanging around talking about how unbelievable the morning had went, this big bad boy comes walking by as if to add insult to injury. I told her to take a "shot" OF him, at least she wouldn't go home empty handed. She did, we all got a laugh out of the irony...and I told her we would be back next season to even the score. I imagine he might not make it through next season, he looks kind of old I think, but if he does...
I accidentally shot a pathetic little gobler once. Self defense I swear. It was all pecking and trying to scratch me so I shot it dead. Had a little beard about an inch long.
I named him Jake and we ate him.
I'm no turkey hunter I thought you had one in a cage showing it off.
I had a whole flock of em in my duck decoys...
