Actually, the decision didn't totally roast the roster... It just ruled that the magazine disconnect, the loaded chamber requirement, and the micro-stamping component of the roster is unconstitutional. The roster will still be there, California will still have to approve each gun for sale, and the DOJ could slow the process down to a grind. Guns that will be approved for the roster will still have to have a manual safety and will have to pass the drop test. Manufacturers will have to still submit those guns for approval...

So, unfortunately... no "freedom week" on handguns. Gun will be added individually to the roster under this ruling.
and many manufactures will decline to jump through the drop test hoops, like they already have.

Nope the whole law goes.

Nope... didn't you listen to the whole podcast? Even your 2A lawyer said that DOJ would still have to approve guns for sale in CA. They just won't be able to deny them on the basis of micro-stamping, the loaded chamber indicator, and the magazine disconnect --which according to the ruling did not make guns more "safe."

The best part is where the judge asked one of DOJ's LEOs who was an "expert witnesses" if his service pistol had those items and he replied "eh..., no."

Naw... the drop test hoop is easy... Even junk handguns can pass the drop test...

The issue is going to be the "process".

true but the Ca market just became WAYYYYYY more accessible and "worth it" to most gun manufacturers and most models. I dont think any of the major gen 5 glocks, new sigs etc will have any issue passing the drop tests and the fees some (if not all) of the big manufactrurers will pay if the roster bogus requirements are gone.

Absolutely correct, "if" California complies. My guess is CA is going to fight it tooth and nail. Our best option is that Bonta relents and accepts the ruling. But even then, how long will it take for manufacturers to submit applications and California's DOJ to process applications, conduct drop tests, and approve the different models of handguns available to the rest of the country?

I see what you're saying....... it aint gonna be quick but it sure looks like CA wont have much of a choice but to do it........ albeit dragging their feet like a spoiled 3 year old not getting the toy at the department store..... with less maturity.

They are nice for Yote hunting. They make great suppressors for shotgun also. Wouldn't it be nice to go stealth at a refuge.
Going stealth on a refuge would be interesting. Imagine if everyone had suppressors and how much better the birds would work with little to no report from other shotguns?

I like that idea.

I can't tell you how many times I've had birds working in and a shot pops off a half mile away and the birds jump up 20 yards.
