This season is looking eerily last a couple seasons past, big rain early, then nothing! No rain forecast for at least a week. It's not looking good! Hope we get some weather soon or it's gonna be a long dry summer.

It's looking terrible so far. Really drastic things already starting in the south valley (many will say it should have started a long time ago and other said it wouldn't happen for many years). Pumping restrictions were set to slowly ramp down over the next 18 years to give local farmers time to adapt an prevent rampant foreclosures and bankruptcies. Updated numbers show that some basins will hit their pumping limits in as few as two more years so much more drastic limits have been announced recently and things are changing quickly. One-two more drought years will be disaster for many local farming families.

It’s over as far as I’m concerned…2022 is almost certainly doomed also for anyone without water rights…

Already seeing huge price increases for blinds with water for 2022, D10 for example…

This might be a good year to start thinking about how this drought has impacted the waterfowl population and what can be done to start the rebuilding process?
Obviously water and habitat are most important. However we can not continue long seasons and large bag limits when were in drought conditions and dealing with stressed waterfowl populations. Unless things change drastically the population will not just bounce back. Some changes will be needed to help the process.
