The girls had fun today

    GF got her first pintail n spoony with 3 teal. First 15 min was clear n birds were all around til the fog rolled n for just a lil over an hour. Once it cleared out it was on.

    Nice work. Looks like the GF had a great time. My wife went hunting with me once while she was still the GF. Brushed up against some nettles before I could warn here. That was just about 37 years ago, she's never been since:no

    Slough looks dry?

    Hear from a local in the area that over pumping around the refuge has caused subsidence around the refuge. But the wetlands at Mendota have prevented subsidence at Mendota. Problem is that areas around Mendota are now lower than Mendota and it’s getting increasingly harder to flood Mendota.

    Slough is never dry or low since they fixed the dam 6 yrs ago. It’s hyacin In the pict .

    On a north wind the Hyacin blows down the slough and jams up against the bridge. Big sections are breaking off and making there way into the refuge area. If they don't get this **** out quick it will change the entire biological structure. No one will be able to fish or run boats.
