There were so many people that thought we would actually arrest them for being outside their homes. I don't really know how the police handled the "lockdown" in many places of our country. We basically ignored it. I was hard to ignore completely because we had a lot of people pushing us to enforce the lockdown and vaccine mandates, that came from politicians, with arrests or other action...I took no oath to do that. Like you, I was stunned at how easily people just went along with something so obviously half-baked.
Yeah I just took the kids fishing dang near every day; pretty sure I would have went to jail for more than being out fishing if they'd tried to arrest me!

Our Church met throughout Covid....but we didn't use the building for about 8 months. Some elderly members of our congregation never came back. In fact, I'd guess we lost about 20% of our normal attendance for the first year back in the building. However, in the last 6 months or so it is on the rise.

My family completely ignored all of it. If your business required masks we were happy to stay away. It was a bit weird at times because most places would not enforce the mask mandate by asking you to leave....but other patrons were sometimes obviously upset that I/we were unmasked. Whatever. :l

To the the biggest travesty is that a government official can declare “emergency” at the drop of a hat which essentially creates martial law.
It’s certainly not constitutional.

During the lockdown, I set a new personal best time driving from Greensboro to Atlantic Beach :p because our cops were not stopping anybody.

Those were joyous times. Not many on the road, and go whatever speed you felt like going. Only good thing about that whole situation was the roads were clear of most of the idiots that clog it up daily. Strangely, not many left-lane joy-riding idiots during that time. Correlation? You bet!
