Spot on as to why I hunt my sterile rice hole, zero competition and mostly compliance with my blind mates.
The newbie public land hunter doesn't stand a chance in FR due to this attitude, so AP's/blinds serve their purpose I suppose.
I have found that on public land I do better by trying to avoid people.

People = issues

Same here Kevin.
It's quite shocking to a newbie when some fella crowds in, shoots swing, and spews trash from their mush. I can handle myself, but just imagine being a newbie or a not so newbie toting a jr.
Good lord I'd make an awesome warden on foot at these sites. Some guys might get tossed the moment they open their mush.
Thank goodness for my sterile rice pit, talk about relaxing.

Never hunt again with someone who
Always claims every bird downed from the middle of a flock.
Lets his gun barrel aim at you.
Won't do part of the work.
Can't keep up a good conversation, and, conversely, can't abide "companionly silence."
Is always right.
In his own mind, is always the best at everything.

Just because you see others killing them at that range doesn’t mean you can.

Never ever never believe the weatherman when they predict a big storm with high winds!

Just because you slay them today does not mean they will be there tomorrow!

Never take guests who only call you during duck season

Never think because its foggy at your house that its foggy at the blind

Never tell the old lady you`ll be home before noon

Never think you`re capable of shooting 7 mallards if you`re unwilling to let other birds go

Never forget the extra flashlights

Never answer your phone during duck season when you have water and none of your friends do.
