Ya, the wife & I are both retired, like you. We are in Illinois also & never know what day it is. But tomorrow is Sunday!

Still have the golden handcuffs but I hunt & fish when I want to. Figure I’ll work 20 more years in some capacity. The money is to good to just leave it. My partner Stan is 83, and still darn good. Works 3-4 hours 3x a week.

one thing ive observed in life is that anytime somebody is working, they wish for retirement. every time somebody is retired, they dont know what to do with themselves. Real mixed signals. That being said only like 40 years give or take and if im still alive maybe ill be retired too.

9.5 years until I can start drawing a pension from a previous employer, 14.5 years until I can draw from another, and accruing a cash balance pension and retirement medical from another employer as we speak. Boredom in retirement is for people who don't hunt or fish! Counting down the days until I turn 55!!!!

If I ever get bored I just go drive somewhere real slow to see how many people are having a bad day. :l :l

I've never observed that. Everyone I know that is retired is living it and loving it. Some people may have never learned how to have a life or identity outside of work.

My wife can retire in 3.5 years and I can do so in 5.5. Whenever we discuss retirement, she always asks what part-time job I think I’ll get. o_O Nope, uh uh, no way. At least let a man get there first, right?
