You must really hate waterfowl, waterfowl hunting. Funds made up made up by increasing numbers of hunters? :l :l :l You must be smoking some bad $&*%.

Nothing personal but this has to be the dumbest proposal for waterfowl hunting I have ever seen. Unless your agenda is to end waterfowling this is a terrible idea.

    as I stated before.
    I agree with you.

my post was to show how stupid the idea was of a tiered system.

They sell/force leg tags an I will tag 1-Duck and 1-goose per year.

Strip all camouflage or anything that identifies my truck as a waterfowl hunter. And shoot until the season closes. Wouldn’t be the only one either.

As has been stated before. There are already tagging laws that are unenforced. And there aren’t enough federal or state wardens to check us all. They can’t even get the annual count right.

I know deer hunters who have never registered a deer since they went to self registering. Yet they have venison in Their freezers every year. It will be the same with waterfowl. Like having every package of goose meat labeled as taken in the September goose season.

Duck tags is the dumbest idea I've ever heard.

As a boy my father made a very big deal about taking me somewhat close to "the duck factory".
I saw things. It was awesome and I really fear that if I tried retracing where he took me ...
THE GLACIAL PITS WE VISITED ARE GONE.
Plowed under. Duck factory is disappearing.
5 duck or 3 duck limit will not replace breeding habitat.
How do you legislate a glacial pit back into existence?

95-98% of Iowa's historical wetlands are gone.

Corporate farms are not going to restore wetlands; they are tilling every acre because the accountant determined _______% has to produce _____ or they don't make their profit. And, that forces smaller owners to do the same in order to try and keep their production high enough.

It amazes me that with all of the "green", new environmentalism, save the planet movement, we still tile and drain wetlands and low spots and plow every acre and it seems to be willfully ignored.

Can't produce ducks on tiled and tilled ground.

Correct. Plus - it's easier to farm in straight lines.

My assumption is that a fair amount of that land could be purchased for the right price.

Any ideas on how duck hunters can buy it and preserve it?

Well.....how is our current set up working relative to increasing hunter numbers and creating more funds for waterfowl related conservation?

I guess one could say that the true definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
