Got my RT700 together & fired up. A few things I noticed... 1) check the feed rate. I wasn’t getting the smoke I felt I should & found that the feed rate was really low. Bumped it up and got better smoke. 2) I did skinless thighs and I’d definitely recommend adding a water dish inside to keep moisture up. The fan dries things out. 3) It definitely has a hotter side & cooler side. 4) it definitely cooks more like an oven so you don’t really get the crust on the racks that I did on a charcoal grill. Grill grates might fix that.

It’s definitely built well & holds temp like nobody’s business. Definitely happy so far but still need to get my Temps dialed in.

Ain't that cool! Post some food once you get it dialed in.

Seems to me that it would be cool to have an Infrared burner under the hood on one side. sear than smoke

smoke then sear, the old reverse sear. If you sear first, you make a barrier thats harder to get some smoke on the meat.

I like my Pitboss 820 Pro. But I still use my Weber charcoal kettle too, in addition to my portable propane grill for quicky's.
